I find myself very interested in these swords. Anybody have experience with them? For you folks in that end of the world, does anybody still make them? The combination of influences is just too cool; part cutlass, part parang, lots of style, and what looks like a supremely comfortable grip for those of us with smaller hands.

Huh. Yeah. Good catch, pgandy. Thanks. Looks like it might be worth an email to them.

I have the Valiantco parang nabur, the right-most sword in this pic: Beautiful cutter. Valiantco's website went off-line recently, so I don't know if they're still in business. The monosteel version of their parang nabur was sold out a long time ago; they still had the damascus version listed last I saw.

I saw that their site went down. I hope they are still in business. I love the lines of that sword. If only it had the guard you see on some examples. The grip on the Valiant golok is one of the most comfortable I've held.

I've been trying to find one of these for a while, myself. Almost bought one a while back, except I didn't have the $650 the seller wanted. Just for giggles, here's a lovely album from Oriental Arms: oriental-arms.com/item.php?id=3420Pity Valiant Co is offline... I never got to buy anything else from them after my Bosnian...

Send Suwandi at valiantco an email, last I heard he was still in business but having website issues. Some of the pages work when I look, some don't.
