first and foremost I have had this thing for 9+ years. I've used it to do just about everything you should and shouldn't do with a knife. crowbar, batoning through logs (big ones) skinning, throwing, spear use, ferro rod use, digging. etc. i have used it to dispatch snakes along side a trusty stick. I've skinned small game and used it to cut up and prepare the meat for cooking. I've put this thing through hell and back and it's still kicking.
) what to expect- first and foremost expect the paracord wrap to come off, because it will.
) i don't know if it will happen to you, but my tip broke off.
) this knife, as with any other tool, can serve a multitude of purposes. Cold steel should consider pushing this as a bushcraft/survival blade. I've really used it for just about anything
) other than tip damage which was caused by misuse I've never had a catastrophic failure with this knife. this is a good choice for a bug out bag on a budget. if you're digging with this knife and repeatedly stab rocks expect damage lol. ( i dig ginseng and other roots in the mountains for sale on occasion).
) I carried this with me a lot. if you're an armed security enforcement officer at a strip mines/ reclaim location. or have a wilderness type job. the throwing aspect really helps kill the time.
) holds a good edge, full tang 1055 carbon steel.
) other than the tip the main bulk of the blade is thick and tough.
) I give it 4/5 stars if the tip was stronger this knife would have been perfect.
) great for a low-cost beater. the first two pictures are of my almost 10-year-old blade, the 3rd is a stock image.
) for those of you who don't know blood will rust a knife pretty badly. and if your in the wilderness for awhile you better pack some oil with you. or develop a good patina on your knife, if you use it for hunting/skinning.
