Testing Rex Tam's custom 146cm sword, sharpened to 8000 grit for him and cut at arms difficulty targets. How long was 146cm? Well, imagine I was swinging a girl on top of my head!

I love your videos, you do great work!
It would be nice to see more close-ups of the blade before you cut and maybe a description of what it is?

Lance I have a question for when you use those really long swords to cut.
What do you do to prevent the blade from going too cleanly through the target and hitting the ground? Is it absolute muscular control (meaning you stop the blade with your arms) or do you practice a follow through that allows the blade to go off the side? I'm not too clear on that with your vids, and frankly you're the only one I really see cutting hard targets well with really long swords.

I'm not too clear on that with your vids, and frankly you're the only one I really see cutting hard targets well with really long swords. I practice stopping the sword with skeletal structural strength, so it does not take much mind to do, or muscular control to do. In simpler words, I use my bones to stop the strike. That's why you see my blade stop quite easily despite the length and weight. There are also follow through where the tip can go off the side and come back from above but I didn't use those in these cuts. Those are easier methods I teach to students. The skeletal method is the one they're trying to master currently.

So you lock your skeletons right after the cut? That's something I haven't tried before at all. Thanks!

I too would love a basic description of the sword, and pics if possible. It looks really sweet.
