That looks elegant and deadly at the same time. You would know better than I would but to me it looks like you did an amazing job.

Very nice! How's your elbow feeling after making this?

Took me about 16 hours to do this one. Elbow really didn't give me any problems, shoulder and hands hurt some. Did get forearm cramps on morning. Still have to get a handle put on it, that will take awhile too. The wife wants to do a very nice one for it since the blade turned out so well.

You definitely need that press and power hammer. It would be hard to make a decent profit when it takes you that long. Almost not even worth the time.

Maybe not that long It does take awhile for the forge to get to temp, then the steel to get to temp. I enclued these times in to.

Man, o man! That is VERY nice looking. Hard work at it's finest! I always love to see Damascus. Just have to try my hand at it some time.

It's not all that hard once you figure it out. The worst part is drawing it out, cutting, and rewelding it. That takes fooorreeeeveeer.

I just noticed some how I have two different blades in these pictures. Obviously, one knife had the tip on the left side, the other on the right. Now I'm totally confused!

The pictures are both sides of the knife blades to show the patterns on both sides. I had put the wrong picture in the first set. I put in the proper picture, just kept the improper and added a 2nd picture of the other side of it.
Here soon I will be selling pattern welded steel blades. This one is already sold before it's even finished.
The pattern welded steel blades I sell will be forged, ground, polished by me and handle put on by my wife.

Yeah, pattern welded/Damascus stuff never stays around very long. It sells really fast, just takes a long time to make. And in this summer heat, I probably won't be doing much, if any, Damascus. So if someone wants something, I'll send them your way.

I will only be making blade I want to out of pattern welded steel. So it will be just what I put up for sale. Not going to try to do any larger blades until I get a press or power hammer.
