the gladius and pugio looks cool, but the spatha looks off to me, almost looks like it should of been two handed but the grip is too short idk

Albion (but no scabbard), Del Tin, Deepeeka, Manning Imperial. Some of the earlier Deepeeka models, still in production, are poor replicas, so you need to pick the right Deepeekas. Some of their mid-generation models (not the really early ones, but not the latest) get the look right, but are overweight. "Accurate" as in accurate appearance and accurate handling. Generally, they'll have much better steel and heat treatment than typical originals. Thanks a lot for the detailed answer. From the look I like the Deepeeka models on KoA especially for the Price, but to bad they are sharpend in the first place.
So I either have to stick the Albion, or sharpen it by myself to conduct some light cutting Tests. Using the Sharpening Service of KoA would be an Option too.
But it is uncertain how good the results would be. So maybe it would be the best to save more Money and buy the Albion, a sword sharp in the first place and suitable for sure for some light cutting.

Not to hi jack your thread, but thank you for sharing that your local forge is shipping blades and introducing new designs. It seems like the "two well-known international sword brands" have had a number of items back ordered for a long time, and haven't offered any new designs for quite some time.
I also just can't resist asking; did you see any evidence of D2 tool steel being used? 😇
I know nothing about spatha or gladii, but the 3 blades in your op look wicked. Very cool.

Wow, that scabbard looks great. If it's anywhere near Windlass in terms of fit and finish then $150ish is a pretty good price. Provided the blade isn't too soft.

Hahahahaha that steel blend stuff just cracks me up everytime. They're free to hype their product but really now...

www.bladecultureusa.com/product/gladius/Is this the same Gladius that was posted in the OP? If so, i'd be tempted to order one. It looks kind of nice but i'd like to know some details on it before I order. I emailed BCA about it.

Dang, after I emailed them they updated the site. Turns out the gladius they NOW sell is not the same mainz type gladius you showed but rather a pompeii gladius. Wonder if they take special orders or will make more of the mainz gladius.

Very interesting Topic. I am also tempted to buy a gladius sooner or later. Have to save Money for it though because for my taste (want a fully functional sharp glaudius) the only Option would the Albion Version which is not cheap.
if i got the People right here in the in Forum Deepeeka made swords would be nice Option too, but they are not sharp in the first place, and I do not have enough Knowledge to sharpen them properly. So the only Option left would be Albion.

Here's a link to his thread: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/52129/sale-century-roman-mainz-gladius

Wait, Austria is not Australia. Hahaha :D
I have just created my rhema-gladius fund. Hopefully by the new year it's enough to get a gladius replica that will tide me over these swords forever :P
