The cockamamie cotton bag that most if not all new swords include.
It keeps the oil intact longer. I kept one in the saya and another in the saya and then in the cheap cotton bag that came with it.
I live in SoCal. Pretty hot & dry. Two weeks later and the one in the bag still had beads of oil while the one in the saya was almost dry. There was oil although much had evaporated.
Cheap treat to easier maintenance.

Yeah - I have Hanwei sword bags for my medievals. They hang up quite nicely, and tend to keep everything from needing to be maintained quite as often.
