I have a Rossi Overland coach gun, 20 ga. side-by-side double-barrel, external hammers and double triggers. This gun was given to me by my Dad when I was just a teenager. I am DESPERATELY looking for firing pins and return-springs. I have searched until I'm blue in the face. Does ANYONE know where to get some? Or am I doomed to have some custom made, or just try to make some myself? I don't have any precision machinery, so making them myself would be a major pain. Anyone? Thanks ....Chris

Have you contacted Rossi, or a gunsmith in your area.

Thanks, fellas! I'll try those. I'm not really a big 'gun guy', but this old shotgun means a lot to me. My Dad passed away about 3 years ago. I'm sure he'd like to see it functional. NEVER DRY-FIRE!! I learned that lesson the hard way. ....Chris

A second question: I have thought about having it chrome-plated. (Not *seriously* thought about it, but it did cross my mind.) Would you do it? I think it would *look* awesome, but would probably be a semprini to maintain. As far as resale value goes, that is not a concern for me. Thoughts? Thanks......Chris

I have my Dad's old hunting rifle, and I keep it just the way it was when he was able to get out and tramp around in the woods.

Your right. Thanks for making up my mind for me! It does need a total re-finish though. I'll go back original. ...Chris

Can't help with the main spring but if I am correct it is a coil spring, not leaf spring, shouldn't be too hard to find the right dia and poundage
Edit: misread it, you need return spring not main (hammer) spring. You best bet with to raid the parts bins of dealers at gun show, shouldn't be too hard to find right dia. and poundage

Thanks for all your suggestions everyone! Haven't had time to look at any yet though. And, I mean the return spring under the nipple that goes around the firing pin itself. I'm not as concerned about the spring as I am the pin. I can probably find a spring that will work. I have one good spring for comparison to others. Thank you all once again! ....Chris

talk your way past the totally-ignorant clerks that answer the phones at Brownell's Supply and talk to a real gunsmith. They have them present, but they are hard to reach. One of them will know where to look for your part, or at least, tell YOU who to ask.
