I like the look on blades like this, that chiseled/carved look the steel has. But does anyone know how it's done? Do you use an angle grinder?

Thats how a tanto i reshaped from a broken blade looked after i reground the blade. So im guessing its as you guessed.

It's just done on a contact wheel of a belt sander/grinder Here's an athame I did with that effect to make it look like a flint knapped arrow or spear head.
