had a play around recently with the idea of textured tactical blade handles ended up with these started out with the smallest one wasnt based on anything just an idea i came up with blade made from a shovel head, because i was curious to see if it could be done since they seem to crop up on forged in fire when they have junk challenges, also figured they should be pretty decent steel since they can chip concrete with little or no damage to the blade, works ok but should have gone with smaller overall shape handle was a cam micarta with horizontal grooves ground in original plan was longer skinnier handle shape then made a big bad camp chopper out of an overrider spring, things huge 10.5 inch blade, five inch handle,2.5 inches wide and 7mm thick made handle with black and green micarta with horizontal grooves and lastly my take on a tactical shefield bowie style blade, made from some sort of industrial bracket handle is layers of red white and black vertically grooved then horizontally grooved color pattern inspired by digs forged in fire entry (i think it was {his was nicer though}) with the deadpool micarta handle overall happy as with the handles think i could use this methodology to make repeating patterns in handle but thats for a future project i think

Nice work. How comfortable are the handles?

thanks, i find em really comfortable since this wrapped micarta tends to be a bit slick it gives it grip, have to grip the short one with a finger looped over the guard due to being short but apart from that realy nice.

Interesting. I was wondering what to do as far as texturing on my new hard use edc knife I'm making. Might give that groove texturing a try.

decided to test out the chopping power of my camp chopper calling it a success. took about five mins to cut all the way through this log its about 6.5 inches across the cut section and didnt take a huge amount of power. and no discernible edge damage
