"Large knife" leaves a lot of room. For 12" of blade, you can look for a large bowie, Medieval dagger, post-Medieval dagger (e.g., Arkansas toothpick), a vast variety of Indian knives and daggers, a tanto, a dirk, a kukri, a bolo, a golok. A couple of nice looking approximately 12" knives: Kizlyar Dagestanskiy :https://www.lamnia.com/en/p/13588/knives-and-folding-knives/kizlyar-%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B7%D0%BB%D1%8F%D1%80-dagestanskiy-%D0%B4%D0%B0%D0%B3%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B9-knife Down Under Toothpick: www.lamnia.com/en/p/7961/knives-and-folding-knives/down-under-knives-toothpick-survival-knifeSome of the Windlass and Cold Steel bowies might suit. He did mention 12" blade, which narrows the field big time, but if you settle on 9-10" the selection is HUGE.

my price limit is £220. i would like the blade to be around 12" I just purchased a ka-bar ZK Swabbie (unorthodox blade...imagine a parang with a stabbing clip point) for around $70. It has a 12" long, 1/4" thick blade of 1095 cro-van steel. There are a lot of Condor with 1075 steel that fit that 12" parameter, as well. You will pay more for the Cold Steel. If you go down to the 9-10" blade range you will open up your buying options considerably.

As has been mentioned already, 12 inches is enormous. I don't get much joy out of carrying anything much over 6 inches, myself; 12 would just be an obstacle. Of course, if you're not planning to EDC and just want a big ol' noif to keep up on a shelf, there are a few out there. Depends what style you're after. Bowie? Dagger? Utility? Something exotic, maybe? Think, for isntance, a kukri, golok, bolo, et cetera. "Knife" is one of those words that covers a vast array of such wildly different articles that it's really kind of useless by itself and needs more than just one descriptor (eg length) to start narrowing things down... But you know that, sooooo...

Well, depending on the type, bowies aren't necessarily bad thrusters. That aside, when you think "good thrusting capabilities," are we thinking full double-edge? Drop-point? Spear-point/partial double-edge? For instance: www.theknifeconnection.net/blade-types/I'm not familiar with UK knife laws anymore, having read up on them only once some years ago, but I'd wager "daggers" are a touchy topic and even a partial double-edge child trip some alarms.

Hanwei/Legacy Arms Witham Viking Seax? Bigger "Texas Toothpick" knives? Musso Bowie? Shorter Cold Steel (or others) machetes?

There are too many knives out there to answer such a general and vague question. Why don’t you look around and after seeing something of interest inquire about that specific knife(s)? I am sure that there is at least one reader that has had experience with it and will answer.

A long straight clip bowie it a great thrusting knife. I will be putting one up for sale here soon it has a 10 1/2in blade. I will be doing one like it with a 12 1/4in blade here soon the blank is ready to start grinding. Both of these are 5160 steel

Will these be carry laws or blades you just have for inside your home? Sheeple friendly is always a consideration, as scary looking stuff will be looked down on.

I googled zombie knife ban. According to BBC, it's true (!)
The term is undefined, but apparently includes knives with scary logos. Really.
So, ZT are definitely out.

Sheer "Big Gov" Orwellian lunacy! A laughing joke that is literally true...and dangerous. I wonder what statist committee determines which names, logos, features are not quite "scary" enough to ban from the ones that are?!? OMG...it's got a GREEN handle...run to the hills! Hahaha
