Picked up Shogun 2 recently and was greeted with this BA cinematic. Kudos for the developers doing a historical samurai fight and not some anime nonsense.

I stumbled on to this WWII Japanese movie that should be of interest to those interested in aircraft from that period. The movie is fictional and designed as a morale booster. It contains such plans as the Oscar, Sally, P-40, Brewster Buffalo, Hudson, and Martlet. Some scenes are actual combat footage and others are from movie land. And there are errors, typical movie stuff like tires screeching in the dirt and mud. Others are the lack of knowledge such as erroneous markings on US aircraft and misshapened rudders on the Martlets (these were props to be bombed). Not only that, they confused the USAAF with the AVG at one point. And a Hudson making a strafing run solo on a Japanese air base, get real. There were a few more but what the heck. Never the less I enjoyed watching. I believe some aerial action shots must have been made with captured aircraft.

Considering Kato was a Japanese propaganda movie made towards the end of the war. it stands up pretty well when considered against Allied propaganda movies of the same era. Better in many cases. Well worth watching :)

Alright alright, bout time I share this. It is the best saber duel I've seen for a number of reasons. Can't believe how obscure it is. Anyway, the video is about two kids play fighting and one imagining what an actual saber duel would look like. I'll link the full video, but the fight starts at 1:27 if you want to skip straight to it (I wouldn't blame you).

Nice. I loved all the grappling and what they did with their coats at the start of the fight.
Reminds me of me when I was a kid. đ

I came across this video on the CroatianâSlovene Peasant Revolt and thought the scenes were interesting. The peasants had a variety of homemade pole weapons as well as some random armour. The thing that stood out the biggest to me was the lack of team work on the part of the peasants, they fought as individuals, but believable. While a peasant would be engaged his companions instead of taking a second to finish the adversary would race by leaving it a one on one. The peasants lost the battle and 3,000 people according to the records. The soldiers would tie up several of the peasantâs spears with a trident while another took a peasant down, I hadnât seen that before. Several of the women attacked with a spear using the worst form possible which were easily blocked before eliminating them.

I enjoyed the gun fight but failed to get âMaster and Commanderâ so I went searching and found a video of the making of the movie and that gave many interesting facts that I would never have known otherwise. Thanks.

One of my favourite sabre fights ever, from the movie The Deluge set during the 1655-1660 invasions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

Another 17th cent. beautiful swordplay, this time focusing on the Verdadera Destreza, from the movie 1612. There are better quality vids but I prefer this Spanish version because this is actor Ramon Langa playing a Spanish mercenary.

Now for big battles From one of my favourite movies of all time, Stalingrad: a German Sturmpioniere battalion is storming a Soviet factory during the first phases of the battle.

From the same movie, ambushing Soviet tanks.
Warning this scene contains very shocking parts showing the brutality of war, it certainly did mark me when I first saw it.

Digging up this thread with this awesome fight scene from Mission Impossible. I love the different martial styles on display here, like Henry Cavill breaking out the American Boxing.
