A couple of relative bargains. An American Civil War era Ames m1860 staff sword. These are scarce and identified in time by the blade cross section and two ring scabbard. The spring and post for the folding guard is often missing, so I wouldn't say it detracts much as far as investment goes. A good street price. www.ebay.com/itm/203348535654From the same seller, a few other blades but a copper plated hilt and plated blade Springfield made Patton 1913 with a garrison scabbard, again not a common find and well priced. www.ebay.com/itm/203348535653

I will admit that I am weary and wary of the swords sold on E-Bay being reasonable quality and not stolen, especially the battle ready swords. Just saying. 😼
**Edited for grammar. Thank the grammar nazi edelweiss for the grammar correction. 😹😹😹😹**

Sorry if me calling you a grammar nazi insulted you. That was not my intent. It was a feeble attempt at humour.

An early contract Starr 1818 nco sword. A bit crusty but not terribly bid up just yet. The swords without scabbards have sold in the $700 range for years. I lucked out finding a very clean late example (1821) with scabbard and frog. for short money. There is a twin to mine that has been listed at $1500 for some years now (mine was much much less). Still, an opportunity for a complete package. www.ebay.com/itm/294161028867Mine The long lasting ebay listing (another of the late contracts) www.ebay.com/itm/372193257097?Attachments:

Most of the stuff you put on here I don’t care about. But man, I like both his offerings he’s got right now. Must resist temptation. Have other goals.

I own a couple of Nathan's and would scoop these up if I was planning a sales table this year. As it is, I still have those two but having a selection often prompts a sale. Most of what I have been linking are swords and knives of interest to me. For instance the Ames S&F sword I listed above has been reduced by $150 and has me seriously considering it. www.ebay.com/itm/194115324463The paint2 wares have me really on the fence over the 1767 smallsword reproduction. www.ebay.com/itm/184817198052Jesse Belsky is actually using the hilts for HEMA builds jesse-belsky-stageswords.squarespace.com/rapiers/smallsword-brass-7acwh-tglx4-ehpgaIf it was a decade ago, I might be accumulating more but I really need to go the other direction and start selling. No one seems interested in bundles I propose. I may get around to individual sales but my proposed lots are probably going to end up selling through auction houses. For instance, a dozen militia swords with a reserve around $1,200-$1,500 Three spadroons and a hanger for a reserve of $2,000. Stuff like that. I have to seriously inventory stuff though. Cheers GC

I just got a message from Nathan tendering offers at $10 off. As I mentioned, if I was vending this year I would scoop them up. At $75, that is a good deal. He does not put a razor edge on them but they are a stout convex which sharpen further easily.
I have more irons in the fire, or I'd probably jump on them anyway.

Not ebay but Del Tin has a few swords on the home page continuing with the note that production is still stalled. www.deltin.it/in_vendita.htmThe last word of mouth update was perhaps by November the shop will be back in action.
