I do not think a mod or someone else deleted Dave Kellys pictures (how?), it looks like the connection to his picture-host was lost, maybe due to the rebuild of his security system, crossing the attachment deleting action.

Wow, that blew up. To Uhlan, We didn't remove them, Dave did. I checked the security logs last night and saw that I was wrong when I thought that one of us removed his stuff. We've removed content from the Cafe and Classifieds. To make it perfectly clear, no moderator removed the content that you are talking about. After reading your initial immediate action messages I checked entries in the modern swords and my collection areas. My messages had all photos, disconnected. This was not the case in the sword review area. Excuse me for presuming some sort of targeted action was being taken that included types of my work. I don't understand what happened, but the fact that my reviews appear to have been guarded certainly give appearance that I was being victimized by some protocol initiated at your end.

Must be some software glitch then. Sorry for my angry fit Adrian.

No worries. My failing to check the logs sooner and saying that your stuff probably got taken in a sweep absolutely didn't help keep the waters crystal clear. That's totally my fault. It's just one more in a long line of bonehead moves I've managed to pull, hahaha. You've been on here a long time and contributed some of the choicest material around in one of the areas where we are fairly weak. That people would get upset that it was being taken is pretty natural.

I wonder if one could be kept for antiqued threads. they go to a locked board for view only. Do it!

That's the way I understand it. If I am correct, then adding pictures and videos from third party hosting sites like Photobucket and Imageshack don't take up attachment space. It's when you use the Add Attachment function that it takes up the space on the server.
It's also still perfectly okay to use the attachment function. We just ask that if you do use that function you try to keep the files sizes lower if there are a lot, or if the file size is large then to use fewer.
