Anyone have a collection of Lord of the Rings replica swords by United Cutlery? Right now I just have Striders sword w/ scabbard, Anduril w/ scabbard, and Aragorn's Elven hunting knife w/ scabbard. Would totally love to see photos of anyone's display at home.
For those that display their swords, how do you display the scabbard as well? For some reason my Strider scabbard fits tightly on the sword, requiring some added pressure to pull the scabbard off. While my Anduril scabbard is the exact opposite, where it loosely falls off the bottom of the sword if I'm only holding onto the handle. Due to this I'm a little unsure how to arrange them. Also.. since I'm new to this, is it normal for either to be like this when buying genuine replicas from United Cutlery? I'm assuming that the reasoning they both fit the way they do in different ways is because they're just mass produced? Anyone else notice this too?

Do you have a link to what it's going to look like? How do you plan on displaying it?

I don't have any of the United Cutlery swords, but I do have a meager collection of swords, most of which came with scabbards. I have mine on a display rack on the wall, in their scabbards. That might not be optimal but it's worked for me so far. I believe there's some danger of rusting, I keep mine oiled. But the United Cutlery swords are, I believe, stainless steel so it should be no worry.

Even though they're stainless steel I've been told by a fellow sword collecting friend that he does the following with his collection with great results. - Uses Metal Glo polish - After polishing, uses Dawn dish soap and scrubs the whole sword and rinses with water, then dries. - Coats everything with Renaissance wax - Then buffs the sword before it dries, and waxes the plaque Not sure if this is standard or not, but it seems like a thorough cleaning to me.

_ Heres my collection display Amazing collection tuor! When did you start collecting and do you still collect? Any other pieces you always had your eye on but were never able to get? I imagine you started awhile ago... Since many of those pieces are incredibly difficult to find, such as the sword of isildur and the helm of the witchking.

Also... your Morgul blade.. Is that a newer one from the Hobbit films? I was told United Cutlery made some for the Lord of the Rings films but have never been able to confirm it.

I started collecting about 4 years ago, I kind f still collect thought there's not much left I want from the UC range. I have Gimli's bearded axe and sword of samwise MC collection in storage I still need to display and then only other pieces I'm chasing is Glamdring MC (with display box) and the standard edition samwise sword and I never see either of them come up for sale here in Australia. I actually got the sword of isildur farely early on from ebay before I really knew the rarity if it and I got it relatively cheap, can't say the same about the Witch king helm. The morgul blade I got from the hobbit movie, I prefer to get original releases of uc items and didn't actually realise that there was and earlier limited release. I have seen a couple of originals for sale but have always been too expensive for me to justify buying.

I also have the PEW shield, glamdring scabbard, sting scabbard, legolas knives scabbards and striders sword scabbard in storage but am unsure how to display them too.

Two suggestions I've read about in other forums is to either re-drill holes on the plaques so the scabbards can sit flush with the sword or to mount them on the wall next to them. I think I'm just going to go for the second option when I'm ready. I can't justify covering up some of the runes or inscriptions on my anduril or sting swords. I recently just acquired a Sting and the Fighting knives of Legolas from a collector on Craigslist that surprisingly lived near me in the States. Got a real good deal on them. Also picked up the scabbards for the fighting knives and hopefully next weekend will be getting the original scabbard for the original LOTR sting sword. Crossing my fingers that it'll work out.
You may want to check out Amazon.com for the Samwise sword. I'm not sure what the policy is for shipping to Australia, but I did see they had at least one for sale there. It was rather steep in price ($500) but it did exist.

One of the ways to display the scabbards is using L hooks (what you screw into the plate to hang the sword on) and display the scabbards next to the sword. I'm moving my collection into a custom built office on my property so my collection isn't displayed, but many LotR sword collectors I know have displayed them that way.

I got Anduril two and a half months ago and it's my first sword and it has me hooked. If I buy a thousand swords nothing will replace the feeling I had pointing Anduril to the Heavens on September 1st. Gotta go...I'm busy ordering 999 swords.

On United Cutlery's website they list the Anduril sword as 420 stainless steel. On another website it's AUS 6 steel and another says double tempered stainless. Which one or ones are right?

For you LOTR fans CB Swords has the United Cutlery #UC1372 Legolas Frighting knives on sale for $119.95. www.cbswords.com/lord-of-the-rings-swords-legolas-fighting-knives-daggers-p-78.htmlOops you waited too long, they're up to $149.95 but still lower than anyone else. I got a set at $119.95, had a tracking number one hour after I placed the order and had the knives three days later. Oops they're back up to $179.95 like everyone else.
