Aah, I missed the irony! (chorus: good morning, Andi!) No problem if you tell me! (chorus: bye, Andi!) I felt the idea of bigger bears nowadays really fascinating! (byebye Andi!)

Although I have seen bears in the woods, I've only seen them in one location, which was in Shenandoah National Park. That and nearby areas are the places I've been to most often. There is the occasional bear showing up in Fairfax County, where I live, according to the animal control officer that I've spoken to. We have seen from our back windows just about every kind of wildlife except for bears but I figure it's only a matter of time.
The bears that I actually have seen in the wild, however, weren't all that big. Big enough, to be sure, but I can't really compare them to bears anywhere else, not having seen any anywhere else, nor am I ever likely to. Basically that means I don't have to worry about brown bears. Supposedly deer in Florida are a lot smaller than elsewhere. I wonder if bears in Florida are smaller, too.

Other than around the dumps in CO, the bears I saw were almost always at night, in the headlights of my car and they were MOVING as fast as they could to get out of sight.
