Edelweiss Puma 941 and Blackjack Panga are helluva great knives. Thank you for sharing. What steel is your Panga made off? My momentary knifes for today: I'm having short time memory problems lately due constant life stressors ( heh in this moment dealing with hand surgeon "sentence": right hand ring and little fingers permanent damage after crushed injury) so I gave my folders for my son to reduce problem...hihihi. I kept only two: Mercator k55k and CRKT M16 04Z. For utility works I have Mikihisa Moroha double bevel. And still: " where the heck I put this Mercator "...on daily bases. I like Mercator: slim, simple, ergonomic design. Mine has carbon steel blade. Going through my knives I choose Himalayan Imports and knife I made two days ago from pro tool thing (my form of hand and mind therapy) for today. I made kydex sheaths for both.

I've been wanting to get one of those "folding kiridashi" style knives for years now, that Mimasaka looks good. Other little folder there isn't bad, either. That Panga's mean-looking, I like it. I haven't really got any in-the-moment knives that carry much of my fancy at present. Ever since my beloved J.J. Martinez retired I've been getting by with my Manly, which I don't like as much but it's at least more to my liking than the other folders on my desk. I could have sworn I had a picture of the two on my phone, but apparently not. Oops?

According to Blackjack lore, the Panga is 420hc. I had posted up the knife info and some pictures in a thread below. I wouldn't chop logs with it but like my first impression, would make a hell of a nice camp knife, big meat, melons, pizza Got super scary sharp real quick. Seems a bit softer than a Buck but not by much. Sharpens about like 440a or AUS-8 sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/48450/older-blackjack-long-knifeOther mainstay edc items have been Kershaw, Benchmade and Al Mar. I had sold the Kershaw Whirlwind and then the Al Mar Eagle then went to edc with the SAK until the Puma arrived. I had almost bought a Mercator or another Opinel but had really been searching for an affordable Puma for a long, long time.

Yes, the reintroduced Panga was supposed to be an improvement. I paid sa bit less than that for mine. Lets us know if you grab one.

From my personal collection, I have to say that the following are my favorites at the time being, although I am trying to branch out more with higher end mid-tech knives. I had that Gerber boot knife a couple of decades ago, maybe more. It's like seeing an old friend.

I originally had one given to me by one of my uncles who served in the Navy - he bought it new when he was in the military back in the late 70's/early 80's. Unfortunately, it was lost back in the late 80's during a move, so a couple of years ago, I decided to look for a replacement, and I lucked out finding a mint condition 1976 MKI made from L6 tool steel, still with a new sheath and also it's original box.

Sounds almost like my story, except army. No way would I volunteer to get on one of those rocking boats. Hehe
