Excalibur (John Boorman, 1981). Not just a movie with swords in it - a movie where the titular sword is central, a leading character.

Seven Samurai. While katana are not my absolute favorite swords, the entire movie is a masterpiece.
I also like Lord of the Rings (all three) and Last Samurai for the fight scenes.

The TV serie Shogun from 1980. I was 14 and that is how I first got in contact with the Japanese culture.

I would have to say Conan the barbarian, there are better sword films but that was the first one I ever saw and it's a classic, it's my favorite and aren't we all figuring out "The riddle of steel" in some form or fashion?

I'd have to go with Lord of the Rings. Hey, it may be a "trilogy," but it's just one long story!

It's kind of a cheesy movie, but I remember watching Ladyhawke a lot when I was a kid.

My favourite would have to be, hands down, that classic Japanese movie - "The Seven Samurai " :) That final battle scene, in the pouring rain is simply awesome :)
