I will pretty much echo Maewyn. I’ll throw out Musashi swords for you to consider as the offer a decent sword for low prices. Look for Musashi as a brand and not a maker offering a sword that they call a Musashi. I have a Musashi 1060 DH katana for several years and it still serves me well. I have not purchased anything from katanasforsale.com/ before so I can’t be of much help. They may very well make decent swords for the price. I would urge caution though. www.ebaystores.com/lyuesword Is one Ebay vendor that I have purchased from and have had good experience with their katanas Quality is good for the price and I have had no problems with their swords. I have cut mats and green bamboo with them and blades did not roll or chip. Of course they make quick work of water bottles and jugs. I have three of them.

I have a Musashi 1060 DH katana for several years and it still serves me well. My 1060 Bamboo Musashi that I purchased well over a decade ago (15 years?) is still going strong. As is my Musashi iaito that I purchased shortly afterwards as I decided that I shouldn’t be playing/learning with such a blade as the Bamboo had.

The main reason I tend to shop Ebay (after much research and consideration, every time) is when I find something that isn't offered anywhere else, or for any reasonable price.
Also, from Ebay sellers you often have the option for hishigami, which usually means a very nice and tight tsukamaki for a low budget VS quite a few of the well known brands where their budget sword's tsukamaki is esthetically bad and often not vey tight, with no cutomization options.
On the other hand, from the 'known brands' the heat treatment, ray skin and koshirae fitting and quality is often at least equal if not better than a random Longquan chinese re-seller.
Choose your poison.

Not really. But you'll get lots of recommendations for Sinosword I'd imagine. They are usual average Ebay quality at best and consistently have flaws, some small, some not so small. They are very good at talking and making you feel good tho. Go with Huawei T10 or 9260 would be my advice. The folded steel used in the market is hit or miss most times. Many people new to this think folded steel is better or more "traditional",it is not. I've seen several sinoswords for now and 90% if not all (save 1 maybe) have soft body, only hard edge, despite mono tempering. Looking at their heat treat video as well as lyuesword/ryansword's heat treat video reveal that they dun heat the blade up enough, thus only managed to hardened the thinner portion of the blade, the edge.

Thanks Lancelot for sharing the videos. I see what you are referring to. Good thing for me is none of my Lyuesword katanas have bent or taken a set. I even accidentally cut into my cutting stand once and no damage. I was really surprised that it didn’t bend. I have never bought from Sinosword so I do not know how well they would hold up

I just bought my first two swords from KatanasForSale.com. BUYER BEWARE!!! Both swords I bought were described as fully functional, but I am not that excited to test them as I have found several defects upon inspection. The most notable are a few black spots on the blade that can not be rubbed off. I can only assume that these are impurities in the metal. In addition to that they came DULL!!! What’s worse is I paid an extra $70 for it to come extra sharp, but could barely cut paper with it... Excuse my ignorance of the jargon and vernacular, but the point of the blade is very ugly looking. Does not at all appeal to eye and I’m now skeptical of the so called “Fully Functionality” of the blades. The Sayas are meh. Not super nice. Barebones type of stuff, although it is aesthetically pleasing when the sword is sheathed. The sayas hold the blade very well. I can hold them upside down and shake them around without worry about them falling out. However, they hold the blades so well that it is difficult to get a smooth draw. It’s very jerky in order to get the blade out. Who knows? Maybe after I sharpen them myself and break in the sayas from drawing many, many times they might actually be end up being an okay sword, but I paid $770 for my first Daisho, which for what I got is too much in my opinion. Both were clay tempered, full tang (Should be, but I haven’t confirmed this yet), and with folded steel. The wakizashi I got is supposed to be1095 high carbon steel. The katana is supposed to be T-10, but it is Chinese T-10, which I have read doesn’t actually contain any tungsten. So the katana is more likely similar to a 1095 high carbon blade. In the end I would probably go with another vendor that is more reputable and trustworthy. You may pay more, but I think it is safe to assume you will receive a better product. Hopefully my first two swords work out, but I don’t recommend KatanasForSale.com. I wouldn’t buy from them again.

Blade seems decent, standard cheap Longquan fittings, though the tsuba looks half decent for a production piece. Itomaki is cheap, badly made and not alternating. Saya is basic, without horn fittings. Not worth the price tag.

Look, I bought from them twice now. No matter who you go through, there are good and there are bad with any of them. The good, is that they are pretty good with their customer service. But could also be better. They said that they would let me know when my first sword shipped out, then 10 days later it arrived. Stars for great speed on the shipping, but none for leaving me hanging. They do have quite a bit of variety. But with that, have quite a few false descriptions. The very same first sword that I paid over 400 dollars for had mixed up metal parts. Their website description said one thing, and the product was something else entirely. All the parts for that sword were also glued together. After cleaning it I found out why, all of the parts were loose. The Tsuba (hand guard) was supposed to be copper, yet was brass, the fuchi and Kashiri (parts on the bottom and top of handle) were also supposed to be copper but were some kind of unidentifiable silver metal, the paint on these parts were very poorly done, and the menuki (handle ornaments) were some crappy junk metal that snapped apart and the sageo is some cheap chemical fiber (not silk). Anyway, the big thing is that no matter who you buy from, do your research! The katanas are mass produced in China (which makes them affordable). And with that in mind, none of them are going to be top quality. But sometimes, some cannot afford top quality, and yet still would appreciate a great product.

I got two wakizashi. One sharpened with electroplating and one unsharpened. I will gladly show to anyone pictures by email about the swords. I couldnt post pictures on this webpage. The customer service is horrible. Not only i was called a lier for complaining for defects in the blades, but also was told that the quenching marks on the blades and defects on the blades where my fault because i left the blades rust. Unbelievable bad manners that i believe goes with someone that doesnt understand english. Mr. tony reply that the visual issues on the brand new t10 folded and clay steel blades was due rust. This on swords received 12 days ago. Jan 12,2021
i also have videos of the blades, i will gladly email to anyone to show the issues. Just ask me. Aburgoslc@yahoo.ca
In a nut shell, if you want a good looking 541.00 usd wall hanger, yes buy from katanasforsale.com.
i admit, they look from faraway amazing, but If you want good customer service and good quality swords you can rely on, buy ANYWHERE ELSE. This guys are obviously a scam and nobody should by even a fork from them
