The video sums up most of my thoughts and has all the testing. If you have any extra questions about it let me know. For $275, I think its a solid value.

Nice review! My only crit would be the music over the opinions at the end. The sword looks great value, but a shorter grip looks like it would make it amazing value for money. An inch off the grip seems needed to me. I'm guessing you have large-ish hands Matthew?

I like the way you test swords, no babying them, take them to the limit and beyond. And how many testers would go to the trouble of growing a beard just to test a Viking sword. I think if RK would round off the lobes on the pommel and shorten the blade and grip a little they would have a real winner here. Yes sometimes less is better.

A good review. I hated to see the abuse, but at the same time know its importantance. In the future you might want to pay more attention to the audio. Personally I find the music starting at about 16:32 a turn off and backed out shortly there afterwards. Thanks to the video I am seriously considering a Ronin sword in the near future, but not that model.

Yep, I have a big set of sausage hands.
Sorry about that, I have to find something a little better than windows movie maker. It does odd stuff with the audio and it can be a pain the ass to get right. That's not a good excuse but its the one I got. Thats the part where I start rambling on, your not missing much. LOL

Yep, I have a big set of sausage hands. I saw a good half inch too much on the pic of your hand holding the hilt, which means it'd be like a viking bastard sword for me. While I'd love to see Matt Eastons face if he saw me doing Fiore with it... I might well get one of these when I feel ready to tackle shortening the grip. As a basic viking type sword for me to get a feel for them, I think this is actually one of the better lookers. Thanks again Matthew. I wasn't casting aspersions, or nasturtiums, regarding the manually endowed... some of my best friends have hands like shovels it's just mine are the size of a gnat's eyelashes.

11:25 caveman moment: "Frankly, I'm running out of ideas, so I'm just going to beat it against this big rock for a while." LOL, I wonder how many times in the 250,000+ years of modern humans has someone uttered that same line, or even the 2 million+ year history if we consider (censored) Erectus, too.
One other bit of valuable information I gleaned from this video, don't try and use a satellite dish for a shield when fighting Vikings.

Yeah I've had audio issues with Windows Movie Maker too. I found that if you convert the video file into a .wmv before you open it in Movie Maker it'll fix some stuff. I found a program called Freemake Video Converter that does the job well. The bad part about it is that it will also install spamware, unless you tell it not to.

Actually, Tea (my favourite beverage), this video is partly why I asked what you thought about grip length. See above. Mr. Jensen has hands like a hoth wampa, apparently, and it still protruded. Plus I've been reading more and more info on the actual size of historical swords grips being much shorter. A short grip apparently couches the hand in such acway that the pommel tucks into the heel of the palm below the base of the thumb, encouraging the right grip that cutty swords benefit from.

Once again a great review Matthew which showed how tough a sword can be to break. liked the disassembly to show the tang and how much has improved over the original models.
