With a couple of old sleeping bags to throw away, I made some armoured bottles, and cut them. All of the bottles were cut in half, but I didn't cut through the far side of the armour. 4 bottles, 1.25 litre soft drink bottles, filled with water, padding held on with rubber bands. Cut 2 with a katana, 2 with a 1-handed sabre (Valiantco parang nabur).
Will do some more. I'll try to cut some with as short a backswing as possible - won't be as easy as naked bottles.
"In addition to being efficient, all pole arms were quite nice to look at." - Cherney Berg, A hideous history of weapons, Collier 1963.
Great idea, I'd imagine that the sleeping bag would be similar to cutting through a gambeson. I've considered wrapping my milk jugs in worn out t-shirts, but have not yet tried it. You just motivated me a little more Timo...
Great info, thanks for posting.

AndiTheBarvarian: Yes we learn, that's why the Imperium Romanum is known nowadays. Why erase it when it's still lucrative? Those loricae sell like hot cakes!

RufusScorpius: I didn't know barbarians could learn things? Interesting, but you are half Roman on your father's side. Veii was the last Etruscan town conquered by the Romans, then erased from every public record. We only know about it from the Greeks.

AndiTheBarvarian: Veii? Of course we Barbarians know the history of the empires we conquered!

RufusScorpius: All that remains is the memory, and we will soon take care of that as well. Remember the town of Veii? Yah, most people don't either.

AndiTheBarvarian: The only remains are the grins without the enemies!

RufusScorpius: A Noisy Cricket is a gun that your enemies laugh at once.... just once.....

AndiTheBarvarian: Size does matter! We know this from Star Trek, the smaller the phaser is the more powerful it is. Those small types from early NG desintegrated people, the RPG sized later ones just hurt a bit.

RufusScorpius: Love to have a noisy cricket. Don't know why it wasn't liked by Smith's character in the movie except that it didn't look cool. But a pistol that can fit in your front pocket that can blow holes through walls.... hell ya!

Dandelion: Noisy Cricket, anyone? ;-)

Brother Nathaniel: oddj, until then though they have to stick to the sling. It was good enough for king David after all.
