With a couple of old sleeping bags to throw away, I made some armoured bottles, and cut them. All of the bottles were cut in half, but I didn't cut through the far side of the armour. 4 bottles, 1.25 litre soft drink bottles, filled with water, padding held on with rubber bands. Cut 2 with a katana, 2 with a 1-handed sabre (Valiantco parang nabur). Will do some more. I'll try to cut some with as short a backswing as possible - won't be as easy as naked bottles.

Great idea, I'd imagine that the sleeping bag would be similar to cutting through a gambeson. I've considered wrapping my milk jugs in worn out t-shirts, but have not yet tried it. You just motivated me a little more Timo... Great info, thanks for posting.
