I cover most everything in the video. Let me know if anyone would like to see something different.

Another great video, Matthew. Thanks for posting it. Don't see a lot of stuff on O-katana. I was cringing along with you when you were doing the flexing while in the armour, hahaha. Crazy flexible blade.

Hopefully the armor gave everyone a little less cringing feel. It sure did for me.. Go figure, I put on armor and a big chunk does not come flying at me. LOL
Compared to the other videos I have done, is this format better?

I enjoyed it. It's good to be impartial, but knowing what you think of the sword after beating it to death, not something most people do, is also important.

If you or anyone has any suggestions about how to make the next video better, I would love to hear it.

How about a quick snippet with kata/flourishes? Even a 1 minute clip of you swinging stuff around can say a lot about handling/recovery/etc. That said, your drunken reviews are, of course, the best. :D

forgive me if this is a stupid question, but would the blade with as many chips as it had before he broke it, be repairable?

forgive me if this is a stupid question, but would the blade with as many chips as it had before he broke it, be repairable? Yes, it would be repairable but not economical. It would require a new polish for sure and I am guessing that a polisher with skill could get all the nicks and chips out but it would change the geometry of the blade a bit. Also polishing takes a lot of time and costs a lot of money. There are a few folks out there who do it for $30-$60 an inch... at 32 inches for the ronin it would be costly. Also the wait for polishing is often months or years. It would be much quicker and less expensive to just buy a new one.

That's why I have a belt sander. Makes all that time magically go away. Lol

Nice review as always Matthew thanks for that. And I have to say it's nice to see you posting again Chris. Regardless of our past disagreements it's great to have you posting in the forum again mate.

LOL Compared to the other videos I have done, is this format better? Needs more drunk. I'd say sake, but whatever makes a drunken review a drunken review. I like showing the bamboo mat review to friends just for a good laugh over drinks, which end up everywhere
