Where did you have the menuki made? Got my custom menuki in the mail yesterday. Haven't heard back from Jacky yet, but he may have been waiting for an update on these before reaching out. I'll see if he responds to my update about shipping out the menuki. Dimensions: .5" wide x 2.25" tall x 1/8" thick Materials: Solid Brass Model: Over 10,000 facets went into the final 3D model, all individually drawn by myself (not including those that were required to build the internal framework of the shape) Price: $28 shipped 3D Model ScreenshotAfter a little sanding/polishing to remove the print lines

I had them printed through Shapeways.com Thanks for the reply on the menuki. How exactly did you make yours? I tried the website but it's just coming up as a flat design, I want mine to have some shape to it like yours and not just be a flat design. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Google makes software called Sketchup, which is available in a free and paid version. It's pretty user-friendly for the creation of geometric 3D shapes, you should check it out. I have to admit, though, that my menuki turned out being much more difficult to make than I anticipated. The compound curves (a line curving on more than one axis simultaneously) are a serious pain to make...so I would avoid messing with those until you have a few models under your belt. All else fails, you can PM me if you're interested in having it commissioned. You can also find designers for hire in the Shapeways forums.

Not too bad from what I can tell. I'd like to see the front of the habaki. Looking closely, it's definitely made for this sword.
Is that the synthetic silk or japanese cotton? Looks like the good stuff.

That's looking really nice. I'm impressed Jacky got the choil right. That fang-like menuki looks pretty badass. Looking forward to hearing about how it feels in hand.

It's no doubt the choil (and probably the black handle too)
