And that's the problem with buying an "antique" weapon on Ebay. Ebay is so saturated with fakes it's too much of a risk, and legitimate sellers know this, so they should be well aware of what proof they need to give to set them apart from all the fakes. If the original seller can't guarantee the authenticity 100% that is a HUGE red flag! And if some other seller says it's real just by looking at pictures that still isn't guaranteed proof from the source. Too risky to spend the money. Instead just buy from an art dealer who can provide the proof needed.

You know I think you are talking to the seller. Either the seller looking for "forum proof" to validate the sale OR a buyer who has laid out a LOT of money on a sword that may well be a fake

No, the COLOUR depends on the soil, cq the minerals. The structure is always in layers and will always be of a crystaline nature. Loupe any patina and you will see. Swamp, bog, are very acid and under water other things happen. That does not mean that in 95% of the finds you will not see the standard incrustation. You do not disapoint me at all. Been in this business for over 35 years, that's all. One very reputable seller on ebey nor angered the authenticity of the sword and its patina, yesterday I asked him about the sword and provided photos, He replied that it Luristan 600BC.

I am a buyer of the sword. now the sword in the way for me, as I get it, it will set more detailed photos. I bought the sword from a man who bought it from another person. the man found him in the ground. the seller from whom I bought the sword does not give a 100% guarantee of authenticity as well as he himself did not get the sword out of the ground, and was not present when it fetched the sword. if he took out, or was present when the sword when getting out of the ground, he could give a guarantee of authenticity 100%.

I bought the sword from a man who bought it from another person. the man found him in the ground. If you find a man in the ground you should not buy anything from him, swords notwithstanding. Neither should you buy an object that was previously acquired in such a manner.
