Hi there, I am new to this forum and would love to get some feedback. I have recently become interested in antique swords and collecting but know very little (at the moment) I inherited a sword I believe is German but know nothing else about it. Does anybody recognise the maker?... it stamped/engraved "I.I.F". with a shield underneath. The shield broken with two strips (top left to botom right) breaking up the shield and the bottom part of the sheild has a "R". Under the shield there is stamped 19.58 Any help would be appreciated I have searched through Richard H Bezdek book on German Swords with no luck. Once I figure out how to load a photo I will update this post.
Thanks in advance

I have seen this mark used on repros from China. I am not sure if it is based on an actual government mark or if it is made-up. Check your PMs.
