Hi I can't decide between the DSA Anduril or Feanor, any suggestions from people who have handled either one of these would be appreciated. Both are now available in the sbg store. I want to do backyard cutting, not just hang it on the wall. The only medieval type of sword I have to use for comparison is DSA 1st gen Guardian. I am concerned with Anduril grip and pomel, I've seen videos on youtube were someone is cutting with one and it starts to bend were the metal meets the leather, does anyone know if this has been improved on, and how far the tang might extend on it. I've always wanted a leaf blade and the feanors is beautiful, especially like the new improved blade and also the non hand stapping pomel. Has anyone handled one of the new versions. Thanks

Haven't handled either but I'd go with the Feanor hands down. It actually seems to be a decent sword that isn't overweight. The Anduril remains a movie sword, somewhat usable if you don't care about handling and performance but the Feanor should suit your needs much better.
Quite frankly though, I'd also consider other options, like the H/T line or other Hanwei swords. Or a different DSA model, the Danish longsword. Aikidoka made some cutting vids with it I believe and it performed pretty well.

Thanks for the info, I'm really Leary about the Anduril being a threaded tang, I wish someone could chime in and let us know for sure.

I had the Feanor sword, but sold it. The design was great. It was well put together, but I found it too light, and that's not something people can commonly say about DSA's stuff!

Just pulled the trigger on the Feanor, took advantage of the 15 off discount code. Can't wait to get it. It supposed to be the one with the sent stopper. I liked the way the previous pommel looked, but as a functional pommel, it turned me away. Thanks for the help, ill review it once I get it.

I've just ordered the Feanor sword. Waiting for it to be here. I love the new looks of this sword. I JUST noticed that DSA has changed the pommel on this model - looks like they opted for the same scent stopper as used on the Longford? In any case - a VERY good move. I hope that's the one you are getting :).
Yep. I ordered this version. I first saw it on DSA website and I'm in love with it.

That sword is a beauty. Really love the new pommel. I own one of the "original" Feanors, complete with the old style blade and fleur-de-lis pommel. Wonderful sword, very light and seems to spring to life in your hands, but that bloody pommel is a safety hazard to the wielder almost as much as to the the target.
Wonder if it'd be possible to get them to swap out the old pommel for a new one in exchange for a fee.......
