Not really sure if this should be in the "Ancient" forum, or the 'Chinese one". Seeing as the weapons mentioned are from around 200 BC, I opted for "Ancient" :) I was watching a fairly detailed documentary the other day on the warrior's from the Chinese Terracotta Army of around 200 BC. In it, they mentioned the superb quality of the bronze weapons found in the pits. I was wondering if anyone today manufactures *usuable* ( eg not tourist-quality) bronze reproductions of any of these weapons ? I know folks like Neil Burridge does beautiful bronze repro's of European area weapons, but does he ( or anyone else) also do Chinese ones ?

A long while back we had a thread about these, and there was at least one outfit making repros. If memory serves, they weren't quite "weapons grade" bronze, and ran $500+ US. I'm googling away trying to find a lead, but not having any luck. Edit: Here's the old thread: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/4277/chinese-bronze-swordI wonder if ol' Tom Wong is still around...

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't this belong on the Chinese Sword board ? I know they're an ancient Chinese sword but so are a lot of Japanese swords. If we let one move into the neighborhood next thing you know all the Chinese swords are going to move in.

Ancient or Chinese works fine, either way. If I wanted to share some of the ancient Luristan bronze pieces I sometimes look up just to drool over and lament that I cannot afford them, would you argue that I should do so in the Other Asian Swords section? After all, Luristan was where Iran and Co. are now, even if it was two or three thousand years ago.
