The above video is of the 2001 High Elven...my cousin just ordered a re-issue from Bud k...this is his review of it.
"Ok, so i received my High Elven Sword today, from Bud K...I am not impressed.
It seems i received one of there "new" production pieces of crap with a molded grip that has a nit line top and bottom and is synthetic NOT leather or metal. Plus the new outer boxes are generic brown with effing stickers instead of the beautiful full color slipcovers they used to have.
It seems the originals were two metal halves put together to form the handle... This "new" version is two dense plastic halves sonic welded together, i may just end up keeping it cuz it is a beautiful weapon. Still gunshy after that Orcrist scabbard debacle! (Cheap plastic).
It is a solid heavy weapon though. Scratch in gold paint^^^! And then to top it all off, the photo on the certificate of authenticity is of Hadafang...biut has a description of the High Elven."

I knew someone who actually had the wood and stainless version many years back. The wood was rather low quality; there was even a small finishing nail sticking out of it, near where the grip becomes blade.
