Hello everyone, I have been a member for a few months now, but figured I really ought to do an introduction thread late than not do one at all. I started martial arts practice maybe 22 years ago, but never did much with weapons. A little staff/bo/stick work but that is all. I've always loved knives and had a few, dabbling with throwing them, but never really knew much about swords other than reading an Iaido book or two. I'm big into guitars and the like (including bass and mandolin), but I kind of got bitten by the sword bug recently.
I always loved the Wheel of Time series- although I stopped reading about halfway through when it became a little chaotic and stagnant, and I LOVE the Walking Dead series. I think it may have been Michonne's katana-work that got me into the sword recently. I have been reading as much as I can on this forum and have already learned so much information, of which I previously was very ignorant. As my Grandfather once told me, "Never stop learning." My only complaint is all the dead links throughout the older posts that I assume at one-time led to valid links at a previous forum address/host (although I am not 100% on the details, I understand that there has been some changes in the past few years- maybe more than one?).
Anyway, "Hello!"

Hello and welcome! May I suggest our SBG swords review section? Good info and eye candy. RiinC

Thanks! I've already been reading reviews on there like crazy, although it does seem the index is a little behind. I check there first for any sword I've thought of buying.
