Interesting. I've owned a recurve bow for around 6 years now, shot it quite a bit. Obvioiusly, it's no gunshot, but when that sting goes taut on arrow release, it's not whisper either. Then again, I also wasn't aware that there are string silencers and limb silencers, so I was operating under the assumption that bow noise was inevitable. The more you know, eh?

I read somewhere about an English bloke that fought in world war two with a bow and a sword. He had at least one confirmed kill with the bow. Of course, he was thought to be a bit eccentric.

This is most likely very expensive but gives a kind of best of both worlds, Ps. you can hear how much sound the bow makes each time.

BTW for "ultimate modern tactical cross bow", PSE TAC series crossbows. A crossbow that replaces the AR15's upper receiver so your crossbow will have that black rifle cool factor. OK there are pretty amazing crossbows. Fast and powerful, and it is sort of cool they replace the AR15 upper receiver, wonder if they will come out with an AK variant?

He was an Australian named Jack Churchill I believe. I've the tac 15e before, very impressive, but extremely heavy and a little awkward. Quiet as far a crossbows go though. I have no doubt that someone somewhere has or will use one in a combat scenario. Wish I could see those vids Ineff ! :-)

That's soft armour, hard armour plate it will not penetrate.

Yes it is, I did not claim it could penetrate hard armor. Just figured I would post that video to show the soft armor penetration.

That was quite interesting, more so watching the blade tracks twisting thru the ballistic gelatin. I'm not sure why he would choose that sort of point for armour though.
