In the movie big trouble in little china. When David Lo Pan's back story is told. About him being a great warrior and conquerer before being cursed. What type of sword do you thing he would of had? I always pictured him having something big and nastily looking like a nine ring broadsword.

He was a noble, I'd say a jian. Egg Shen would probably use the broadsword though

This is kind of unrelated as far as swords go, but on the big trouble in little china note, there is a metal guitarist I know named Eric Calderone, goes by Erock. He has an album called Lo Pan Lunatic which I happen to be listening to right now, which has some really great music if your into metal...I think its mostly covers of the music soundtrack but I can't confirm that. Anyway, I have actually never seen this movie, is it any good?

One of the best movies ever made. 9 out of 10 times you ask me and I'd say it was my favorite of all time. Most of Kurt Russell's stuff with John Carpenter is awesome.
Lo Pan is an egomaniac, so I see him with a Jian with solid gold furniture, a gaudy hada and a flashy, gold fitted scabbard.

I agree - BTILC is my fav Russel/Carpenter movie. And as for the sword, I also agree that since Lo Pan was such an ego-maniac, he would have used the gaudiest everything on it.

Something like this but in green rather than red: If you haven't seen it, this is awesome
