I was talking to Saito about doing a variation of the suontaka sword, and he gave me the idea of doing a Jormungandr themed guard, and a Yggdrasil pommel. This is what I came up with: Pretty neat huh

I thought the tree design was a bit busy, and didn't really gel that great with the guard. Here's a design, with a simplified suontaka pommel.

Nice! I like it, but I REALLY liked the original design. I think an embellished sword that tells a story is about as cool as they come. The matching design has a great theme, but the original design really speaks. Just my humble opinion. Either way, they look fantastic. Can't wait to see it come to life.

Love it - this is a really cool design...I think you successfully retained the original sword aesthetics yet made it your own. Hope this gets done.
Cheers, J

Thanks for the comments guys. The moulding and casting process is prohibitively expensive, so unless I get commissioned to make one of these designs it's unlikely they're going to happen in the near future. I trimmed down the knotwork on the Yggdrasil pommel, and I'm much happier with it now. I don't think it's 100% there yet, but it's close
