A few years ago when I lived in Scotland, I attended a small Renaissance fair outside of Edinburgh. While there I spoke briefly with a gentleman about archery, and he gave me his card. Which I promptly lost to the recesses of the things I have in storage.
So i'm wondering if anyone else has ever heard of this person and knows if he's still in business. I can't find him online but I believe it was a small workshop he had so that may be possible. His name was Paul Wrightson, and his card advertised "Medeival replical longbows and arrows."

Never heard of them, and doing a internet search has come up with nothing on them. So likely they aren't still in production or changed their name. Otherwise there would be some mention by someone of their product. You might want to check out Green Man Longbows www.greenmanlongbows.co.uk/index.html they are some of the better long bows I know of in the UK. I really like their takedown longbows with the wood case, a very beautiful presentation for a very functional bow. Their prices are fairly decent for bows. I think the low end is 300 and they go up to 850-900 or more for some of the custom work, they aren't the best at posting their pricing. Of course if your looking for low cost, KP archery on ebay is the go to source for a decent quality longbow that is actually cheaper price than a dozen arrows.

Likewise. I've never heard of them and came back empty handed. If you're after a longbow in the UK I recommend speaking to Pip Bickerstaffe of Bickerstaffe Bows.
I've used dozens of traditional bows and I think his team make some of the best available.

The longbow shop I linked actually stocks Bickerstaffe bows. They are definitely some good bows.

Aye they're really nice. Our archers were shooting the wand at a CLOUT event last summer and the Bickerstaffe kept arrows flying long after my arms and back buckled. I need some more medieval arrows too. Some have never returned.

I'm actually in the US (east coast) currently, moved over for work. I just happened to remember seeing the card and thinking to have one shipped over. You folks have given me a lot of links, thanks very much

I'll second the longbow shop. They have some gorgeous bows there. I'll probably grab one of their Warbows in the near distant future.

I realise that this is an old post now, but I just found this and thought I'd give some information. I'm a personal friend of Paul Wrightson, who used to live on the Wirral but now resides in Ludlow, and I can confirm that he has in fact stopped making bows now. He's a professional musician (a very good one indeed) with a love of medieval things too. I was a pupil of his for some time, and I also have one of his bows, which he presented to me as a gift before he moved to the West Midlands. I hope this helps. All the best, Andrew MacKenzie
