It's definitely one of the more fantastical designs. The hilt is a bit too busy for me, I was hoping they'd go with something more simple. I much rather prefer Jaime's old sword. Rest of the exhibition over here: winteriscoming.net/2014/03/game- ... s-at-sxsw/

That thing is ugly as sin. Reminds me of those 15$ SLOs from India or Pakistan that you can find in the seedier parts of a flea market.

You know what the sword reminds me of to a T? The sword of Althena from Lunar Silver star story..just with a lion theme instead of a dragon: i115.photobucket.com/albums/n319 ... sSword.gif ^ tell me you don't see the similarities

I'd expect the sword to be garsh and over the top. It has to scream opulence and wealth... remember that a Valyrian Steel sword was just about the only thing the Lannisters didn't have. It would be meant to SCREAM wealth and power.

With all the detail on the hilt, I almost missed the decoder ring and hidden spatula.

Would the HBO licensing prevent me from getting this made as a custom sword?

No. Technically it would make it so a custom maker would not want to MAKE you one... as they would be the ones reweaving money for a licensed product... however... if its a one off and not a run, some custom makers will still do it for you, it depends.

Yeah, this looks like something ol' papa Tywin would hang on a wall at Casterly Rock, as a symbol of wealth and status, rather than a tool to be carried into battle. Kinda reminds me of the Arms n' Armor Medici Falchion, that thing is concentrated industrial-strength bling: www.armor.com/sword158.html

Damn, your right on... Lions and everything... that Falchion is perfect. Also, VERY over the top.
