Hello everybody. Recently I was told that the movie "Iron Warrior", the 3rd of a lame franchise featuring a warrior named Ator, used the Atlantean Sword for the main character: Since it was a movie from 1987, and the first commercially available Atlanteans were the Albions in 2002, I wonder where, in the name of Crom, did the producers of that piece of crap got the sword they used. Does anyone have an idea or info about this? Here is the trailer of the movie, where you can see the Atlantean. I have some pictures too, I'll see if I can post them; ... ata_playerI am really curious about how could they get their hands on an Atlantean in 1987 to copy it, and if Mr. John Millius, Ron Cobb and Jody Samson were aware of it. Regards, Alexander.

OMG! That was so bad, it's awesome! It looks like they "stole" a bunch of ideas from lots of different movies and put them all into this crapfest of a movie. I'm wondering where they got the Atlantean sword as well... interesting indeed.

The guy in the skull helmet also appears to be using the Red Sonja sword.
I think their propmaster just raided Dino De Laurentiis' closet to save time.

look up Joe D'Amato - apparently he was known for making knock off's of popular movies. His wiki page says he even stole clips from other movies and just plugged them into his films! Ha! oh, and he made a lot of porno's - classic.

Yes, I saw that's the Red Sonja sword as well, but I really want to know how they got an Atlantean in 1987. Anyone has a clue on this? Regards, Alexander.

Actually this one is not one of D'Amato's movies, in fact he disregarded it when he made the 4th(!) movie. This one was directed by Alfonso Brescia. D'Amato made the 1st, the 2nd and the 4th movies, "Iron Warrior" was the 3rd. I wonder if Mike Sigman from Albion could shed some light on this... Regards, Alexander

They probably just bought or rented the original props. That kind of thing is actually way more common in the movie business than you'd think - there are examples of props that have shown up in multiple different movies across decades. It's just usually not this blatant.

This is still intriguing. By 1987, Schwarzenegger was already a big star, the original Conan was a hit, and so any prop from his movies would have been very expensive. How an obscure production could afford it? And the mistery grows bigger... Regards, Alexander.
