So I checked Kult of Athena upon waking up a few hours ago and was a little stunned to see that they've begun offering products from Traditional Filipino Weapons; the prices are virtually identical between TFW and KoA, but if nothing else, perhaps it'll mean more exposure for TFW.

Don't see them under the manufacturers tab :/

Just click "New Items" or go to their "Korean, Philippine, and South East Asian" section; KoA can be a bit slow about adding new manufacturer pages to their list. Up until I think their last update, there wasn't a page for Ronin Katana, Rawlings, and a few others.

And they've got some wonderful pictures of them. I like Kult because they're about an hour or so away from me, so every order ends up being basically overnight shipping, but TFW has super fast shipping anyway. So nice to have options, thanks for pointing this out.

Nice to see TFW products with alternative photos and more stats.
I noticed a curious thing, though: The Kris #1 KoA has a completely different blade than the Kris #1 on the TFW website. It looks more like the Kris #5 except wavier and with a stronger curve. That seems kinda odd to me.

I have the sudden urge to buy a kris sword...

I see what you mean. Perhaps it's an older model or something?

Seems unlikely they'd ship an outdated model to KoA. For that matter, TFW have displayed the same krises for as long as I've been aware of the site, except the #5 which I'm pretty sure is a newer addition. So it may actually be the other way around; that this is a new version and TWF haven't gotten around to updating their gallery. Or maybe it's a #5 prototype and KoA messed up their labeling somehow? (They do sometimes get stuff wrong.)

I think you're right. It actually looks like a combination of a #5 (the hilt) and a #1 (the blade, albeit wider), so it could be a prototype of #5, but it could also be a newer version of the #1, since they have used the same pictures for quite some time; I don't think they've actually changed them since I first heard of them.

It's so cool to see these up at KOA, their measurements and descriptions are the best! Ron's a nice guy to deal with but he doesn't like to be bothered with things like POB or weight. I've been perusing these at KOA as they arrive and it's actually changed my mind about what I want next from TFW.
In regards to the different looking models, my imression (from Sebastien's TFW Pinuti review) is that there will be some noticeable variation between individual swords of the same model from TFW. Maybe this is why Ron didn't like to say too much about stats?
