For anyone who does purchase this sword, the grip comes rough as sandpaper, but as you use it, it smooths out. Also, the stain they use rubs off on your hands. Regardless, it's a very beautiful sword.

I seem to be having the same issue. My blade is curved an inch to one side. Is this a common occurrence with new productions? No, this a common DSA occurence overall...they like bent and twisted parts on their swords...at least on the ones I receive... ;) Check the Carpathian on the "New Aqui" thread; my 4(!) tries looked all that way...and by the way, still no answer on my reply to DSA...three weeks again now...

Darksword scheduled Canpar to pick up my package, and when they called me to confirm the pickup, I had to call them back (mostly because the guy on the phone had a heavy accent and I couldn't understand him). THEY HAVE NO SCHEDULED PICKUP FOR ME! Wtf?!!
Now I gotta bug DSA again because either Canpar screwed up, or I did. My head is fixing to catch fire, I'm so damn frustrated!

Crazy wolf, you are right about one thing. I really don't want to pay top dollar for a good cutter and have to go through some crap like this again. Maybe it's worth the trouble I'm the long run?
I just realized that I've actually derailed the thread a bit, so let's get back to topic.
The dual wolf heads on the pommel are actually not as uncomfortable as they seem. They aren't like pajamas at noon comfy, but it really doesn't do anything to cause any discomfort. I would guess it's comparable to a fish tail pommel, seeing as you don't really notice the gap between the snouts.

I really like the wolfsbane and would like to own one. However I could never purchase one with the seemingly endless QC issues combined with international postage costs.

Well, DSA seems to be good on their word. DHL picked up the package earlier. The driver was really displeased with the lack of paperwork and having to make copies of the return invoice of all things. Seems no one is having a good week. Now, to waiting again.

Unboxing the DSA Wolfsbane:
As the camera rolls, I just let whatever initial thoughts I have roll on out. But she really is a beauty you have to see for yourself to understand.

No problem! It's not technically a review as much as it is a first impressions video.

No problem! It's not technically a review as much as it is a first impressions video. Excellent "unboxing" so to speak, the prices are expressed in US dollars so the price in Aussie would be $1080 plus shipping, I cannot understand why a Canadian based enterprise would advertise in US dollars, the exchange rate from Canadian to Aussie dollars is around 1:1 I'm curious, were you to pay for a sword from DSA what would be the difference ?

I didn't really wanna sound overly anal about it. Tomato, tomatoe.
Anyway, I wonder about that as well. But I've heard similar stories from paying customers, so I'm not sure it's any different.

I purchased both a Wolfsbane, and a Einar from DSA. The Wolfsbane came slightly damaged, and the Einar came with the wrong scabbard but in both cases they were very quick to make everything good. They really stand by their warranty. Its just too bad they don't work on their quality control so they wouldn't have to spend so much time working on filling out warranty orders. Although in my case.neither sword had any quality issues, they both were excellent examples of production swords. The Wolfsbane had some very minor issues with the grip. But the Einar was perfect in every way except the scabbard. So I am quite happy with mine. In fact I am considering ordering another one of their Witchkings with the new style blades, it looks quite impressive.

I was looking at the Einar as my next Viking sword but then I found out that Sonny is coming out with a Suontaka so the Einar will have to come after that. Does it ever end?
