First, allow me to say that Ive been stalking this forum for awhile now, and have yet to create an account.. Then I saw this and decided it was time. darksword-armory.com/products-page/medieval-swords/wolfbane-1544/Besides the fact that theres $100 discount until April, its gorgeous (IMO). Another very attractive point, no pun intented, is that the design was born through Odinist legend.

You know, I actually quite like the look of a few of there swords......... but I can't bring myself to buy one for fear of getting one of lemons that keep getting reported, returning a sword from Oz is expensive.
The wolfsbane is one I could risk it with as I really like it and want to try DSA for myself.

I just can't decide if I like the pommel or not. Maybe if the wolf heads were together.

"100$ discount – until April 2014 – Pre-Sale price: The WolfsBane The sword is in production. It will be ready for April 2014. " Now does that mean $340 or does the quoted "$440" mean the price rises to $540 in April ? Getting a brummy in Aussie means LOTS of hassles getting the sword back to the manufacturer - with a quoted sword length of 47" that surpasses the parcel post limit of 44" - so you can double or triple the transport cost - ie. calculated shipping to Adelaide city is $160! on the DSA web site. Imagine having to return one

Forgot about the length restrictions, ive been lucky B4 and have been an inch over sending a package (had to smile and be nice) but I doubt Aust Post would take this one at + 3" maybe a bit more. If I was going to get one id want it sharp and full scabbard setup, that brings it up to $570 and as you say im not sure if its this less the $100 or discount already accounted for. I also note in the checkout there is an option for a nice display box for another $95 and seems $160 postage to Victoria aswell. I also really like the Knight Bastard Medieval Sword, darksword-armory.com/products-pa ... word-1329/ Just cant bring myself to do it :?

3" for the sword and another one or two for the packaging, us Aussies should try to buy in multiples but we bring in few and from different manufactures.
Anyone else thinking about a hewing spear ??

I think overall its a nice looking sword, especially the blade. I would prefer a different pommel design though, personally. I think it looks a little odd with the 2 wolf snouts popping up at the top (or bottom?) of the pommel . Its tough I think to get a symmetrical design out of a wolf head, assuming they wanted that and it looks like they did go for that look by combining 2 heads into one pommel. Hopefully somebody gets one soon and posts their thoughts. Real pics always seem to do swords more justice than the ad pics, pretty much all makers.

I asked Eyal some weeks ago and 440$ include the 100$ discount. The sword will be 540$ after release.

Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I'm on my second WolfsBane lemon. First one the guard was not centred, I just received the replacement and the blade is bent about and inch and the red oak handle is not as nice as my first WolfsBane. Looks like it was just thrown together. Eyal and Robert have been good about replacing them and the customer service is excellent. I'm going to keep buying dSA. But they do need to work on their quality control. So now I will just wait in anticipation for the 3rd WolfsBane...

did you take any pics? I don't believe we've had anything other than the promo images.

I seem to be having the same issue. My blade is curved an inch to one side. Is this a common occurrence with new productions?

The only problem I have with it is that they're calling it a Viking sword when it doesn't resemble any Viking sword ever made.

Clearly it is a fantasy sword based on longclaw and not a viking sword at all.

It may be a Viking tribute sword, not a Viking replica sword. I don't know, it doesn't bother me much. I just hope they will replace my bent sword, seeing as how it was a prize rather than a purchase.

If you etch Thors hammer on a gladius you still shouldn't call it a Viking sword. And if you put lipstick on a pig don't expect me to kiss it.

Lol. Back to topic though, DSA is starting to frustrate me. I still haven't heard back from them regarding whether or not they will send me a replacement if I return it. Their website doesn't have a contact page that I can find so I'm just left emailing Eyal directly. Edit: Found the contact page and gave them a call. Picked up right away and he is sending a courier over tomorrow to pick up the defective sword.

They do occasionally have problems but do seen to make good on them. As their prices increase they will have to start being a little more careful what they ship. I have two Darksword swords and one dagger and they're fine, not Albion fine but no where near the Albion prices either. I have four Albion swords but they're starting to get out of my price range now. I'm looking a Darkswords Einar and Gladiator Sica for possible next purchase.
