At that length, you want stretchy limbs (unless you're happy with a very short draw length). Which means slingbow, which you already know about.
For ease of carry, light is good, and might beat short for convenience. So maybe a short recurve is better than a short compound. Something like the Samick Mind 50 (50" long, weighs under 300g iirc, nicest lightweight bow I've shot) might suit. If not, stick to a slingbow. (Or gun, or javelin, or atlatl, or bolas, or rock, or shuriken, or axe, or pistol crossbow, or ...)

Well I would probably wear the bow in a hip holster in a survival situation, but for my regular hunting it's in hand at all times. I was thinking of a fiberglass laminated horsebow though.

50 inch composite fiberglass bows could be good.

Will fiberglass laminate bows be warp resistant even if there's wood in the mix?

I would have thought carbon fibre laminate would be more stable ?

A wooden bow shouldn't warp. The wood will have been prepared in such a way that it has already done all the warping it's going to do. A wooden bow will last years if cared for properly. A carbon fiber/fiberglass laminate bow can last decades. I know people who are shooting recurves that are older than me.

That would be my main concern of a primary hunting tool.
Most youth sized bows I've found (I'm not a youth I'm just tiny) only have 30 pound draw weight, I would have to stock prey real close to get a killing shot. I feel anything short of 30 yards I might kill it but I'd have to track a blood trail and finish it with a knife or hunting sword.

This is the advatage of the various Korean bows (e.g., Samick Mind 50 and other Samick Korean bows, various Kaya bows, etc.). They don't stop at a youth weight of 30lbs; they usually go up to about 60lbs. (Often measured at 32", rather than the usual 28", but if you're using a trad Korean bow, you're going to be using a trad Korean thumb draw and getting that extra draw length.)

You could always go for a stronger slingshot.

I've been reading this thread with a bit of amusement,I'm sorry. The thought of someone being able to just whip out a bow and shoot a deer that's just wandered into 10 yards reminds of the folding bow from the avengers ! in other words, its a bit of a pipe dream. and what is a reverse energy bow ? never heard of one in26 years of bowhunting and archery. do you mean past parallel limb technology or something? and another thing, you will always have to blood trailk something the size of a deer if you shoot it with a bow, unless you arse it and hit it in the spine,in which case you'll be wanting a bit more punch than slingshot can provide! I can help you with your search for ultras short bows. theres plenty of compound bows that are around 32" long, and quite a few under 30". I own one called an infinite edge that will do anyone from age 6 to adult, and its a pretty powerful bow. only problem with all of these short bows is they must be shot with a release aid or you will break them. as for trad gear look up KT 44 or JT 44 recurves they are 44" long I think theres a bloke on here called hairu who has one. also theres a lot of Korean bows around the 50" mark, you don't have to use a thumb ring at all,i never have using them and I've killed plenty of critters with them. also do a search on survival bow theres a bloke who makes a tough no frills folding longbow aimed exactly at what you want except for the whole quick draw aspect. you can also buy or make 2 piece arrows. there is also a chinese copy of the liberty1 bow just look up pistol grip compound on ebay

How did this go from a compact high poundest compound bow to a very long weaker bow. Even if you are small you can work out build up muscles to be able to pull a heavy bow.
