Greetings from amateur designer Rammstein!
As some of you may have seen, I worked on a sword for Adam, a beautiful type XIX with transitional hilt, finger and thumb rings. There wasn't really any reason for me to do this other than I was in need of inspiration and remembered that Adam liked the type XIX style and next thing you know, I'd dedicated a sword to him.
I'm making this thread to see if anyone is interested in me designing a sword for them, obviously free of charge, but I don't want to be wasting my time, so I'm asking first . Adam's was unprovoked and the reason why it came out so good was because I knew a little about what he liked. Unfortunately, I'm going to need some help from you if you want me to do this for you. Firstly, I'll need a VERY broad inspirational idea. I'm not limited to European designs (my forte) however these are probably what I do best. I'd prefer not to rehash something already done before or something done by real swordsmiths/designers or even something with little flair found historically. I want this to be unique with a lot of flavor. I'm also going to need to know you a bit to get the "personality" of the sword right. If nt, I may completely mess up and you wouldn't like that well. So lets keep this between people I've communicated with just a little. Before anyone starts complaining, this can probably be accomplished easily enough, just spend a week or two on the sbg sword forum being an active member . Finally, I'll need a name for the sword! With luck, I can get a virtual portfolio going here representing the eclectic tastes of the forum and the personalities of our awesome members.
So who's first ;D?
(and yes Adam, yours will be up soon!)
