I have decided to continue my designs on my numbering basis (1 is the first design, 2nd is the second, 3rd the 3rd, etc.) These are #s 9-15 and were inspired AFTER the sword design contest (in which my number #3 design took first place). The swords are also given names for a more personal relationship.
#10
This is the Calais, inspired by french medieval swords of the 14th century. I designed the scabbard more for fun than practicality.
#11
The saxon. This is an oakshott type Xa. Not much to say about it because it is simply a utilitarian fighters weapon, down from the rounded tip to tea cozy pommel. An "off" sword, but important none the less. Many people know that my favorite style (XI) is not far off from this and therefor I like this design a lot.
#12
This is an inherantly english design, probably 15th c. I wanted to make a sword with this distinct english flavor with it's original pommel.
#13
I'm not sure what this sword is. It's more of an original concept than anything else, but I'm assuming it has historical precedence.
#14
Ok, this sword was tough. VERY tough. And it has now become my favorite of all that I have designed (albiet, not very much ). It starts with a rectangular ricasso with 3 fullers. The central fuller continues into the main section of the blade with the rest turns from rectangular to a slightly augmented lenticular x-section. From there it gradually morphs into a hollow grounded blade with raised spine.
#15
This sword was loosely based of the Henry V sword. It is a light, fast, deadly, and slightly short sword of the type XVIII variety. It is hollowed grounded to reduce weight yet retain maximum thrusting ability.
If gen2 would like to bring these to life, you have my approval and support (pm to get my email). Until then, designs are copyrighted by meh
Ok, Biased opinions, complaints and abuse all welcome! Who needs mansy pansy compliments ;D
