If the pommel isn't left-handed threaded (that wouldn't make sense) you have to unscrew it in the direction of the blue arrow. If it's screwed. Are you sure about that? I have a cheap hand-and-a-half where the pommel is just sticked onto the hilt, with some duct tape in it to have some steadiness on the hilt and the screw is under the pommel.

Here is a review where the sword is disassembled. There are some links to pics on page 2. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7423The pommel seems to be stuck on in some fashion. Of course this review is a couple years old and Windless could have changed the assembly.

If its held on in the same manner as the Valeria sword, it may be impossible to tighten. The nut that holds the hilt together is glued to the inside of the pommel. If it comes loose it has nothing to hold onto when you try to tighten. You will have to pull down keeping pressure on the nut while you unscrew the pommel. Once off I put a bunch of hot glue and supper glue inside the pommel to stop the nut from ratting around. I then used a wood grabbing washer (little teeth on the bottom)with the same diameter of the grip and a locking washer and two nuts with loc-tite on all of it to hold the hilt together. I then used two part epoxy to glue the pommel back on. I then took it outside after letting it set up for 24hrs and used it against 1"-2" saplings to see if it would hold (easy to do when it only cost $150). Everything has held fine with no movement or loosing. Hope this helps.

Hi there, The pommel is glued to the metal tube that is the handle. I dissassembled my Windlass Atlantean the following way: First, heat the pommel in boiling water for 2 - 3 minutes (caution! It will be very hot); Then, strike the pommel of by hitting it with a rubber mallet. This will expose the nut. Since we have already the sword disassembled, it would be good to check the tang, clean the grease between the guard and ricasso, and apply Renaissance Wax (or any other good automotive wax) on the whole blade. Reassemble the sword, and it would be recommended to use a pressure washer to help keep the nut tight. Then you may glue the pommel again, or, as i did, use some pieces of rubber sheet between it ant the handle to keep it in place. My Atlantean is now rock solid. I did the same with my Father's and wit a Valeria's that I sold. Hope this helps. Regards, Alexander.
