Been looking over your spear thread and I wish I had done the shape of this more like yours. This will always look to me a bit like a baseball bat with a sword stuck in the top of it lol. Still, now that I have FINALLY gotten to mounting it I am very happy with it overall.

Couldn't resist and ended up dyeing the wood to make the figure in it pop. Looks so nice I almost don't want to wrap the grip area, but I will do it tonight. Going to need to get more wood to make the scabbard but should have the blade done for tomorrow. edit/add- swords done - here's the new thread I started for it sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/44838/sword-finished-beastly-blade-fallen

I wasn't thinking last night about how long it will take to finish the wood - going to apply several coats of antique oil - and I can't wrap the grip until that is done. but the overall shaping is done, just a bit of finish sanding left then I can begin oiling the wood. It's just shy of 4' oal, and it's a monster!
