Trying to identify

About 30 years ago, a couple of sabers were given to me - found at a flea market in southern Virginia. They've been stored in my basement and are in exactly the same condition as they were 30 years ago. I've included shots of only one of the swords. The blade appears to be high carbon steel, and other than the surface rust, seems to be solid. The blade is fairly thick, and it although it could take and edge, doesn't seem to have ever been sharpened. They seem to have a full tang - not welded on - with a threaded portion at the very end with a nut holding the remains of the hilt in place. One of the two sabers appears to have a spot of black paint on the blade. I've thought about trying to clean them up but haven't done so. I doubt they are collectibles, but you never know.
