I am new here and I would like to say that SBG is one of the best resources on the web for people like me who have little money to spend on weapons. Now onto my question:
I was looking into the Windlass 1860 Light Calvary Saber. Now, are there any websites that can offer sharpening on this sword, because I don't have the equipment, or skill to sharpen myself.
Thanks in advance!

It seems like most places selling the sword online offer a sharpening option (for around 18 dollars), where had you planned to buy it? Usually the sharpening option is just a button or link on the item description, I think on the Museum Replicas Limited page it may be a seperate listing and you can search for 'sharpened 1860' or the like to find it. Welcome to the forums

It's not clear from this link if the sword in question is blunt or sharpened. On the left are a dozen or so links with one of them specifically for "blunt" weapons. So should I assume that the sword your link takes me too is sharpened and therefore needs no sharpening? What am I missing?

They are blunted for stage use, reenactment, and some people use them for blunt sparring weapons. The 1860 is blunt in the sense that it is not sharpened, unlike the weapons in the blunt section which have thick edges that are not meant to be sharpened.

This is Jason from Arms of Valor. We do not have a specific button to sharpen the Civil War Sabres, but you can send an e-mail with your request and we will sharpen it for an additional $18.
