I've been working on this design for an HT Longsowrd but I wasn't sure how to do the grip. The main thing i was trying to figure out was how to make it really fit for a king. After seeing Saito's kingslayer thread I finally figured it out For the grip we have 2 tones of wood, oak burl for the collar, and birch or ash for the main grip. There are 4 bronze spacers, 2 of them lining the collar edges, and 2 lining the central mild steel spacer. I'll take this design up with Ernie at Yeshua. it's probably going to blow through the better part of my internship money this summer but if he's up to the task it's going to be so worth it Also I think this sword is going to need a name. I'm tempted to go with kingslayer, but maybe you guys can come up with something better

Holy exploding doors, that looks great. I'm at work atm but if I have time later I will definitely give this sword a go.

Very good, I like! It bears a strong resemblance to the swords that the statues of kings were holding in the Minster cathedral in York. I'll have to find my pics when I get back to the UK.

Awesome design. And this would be a great name for it! Really contrast the wood in caramel and brown tones, light and dark.

Hey Lemuel, I'm back from work and I started modelling your sword. Two things: Can you please upload a pic with arrows pointing to what materials go where on the second sketch ? Second thing: I think I've found a great name for it but I won't reveal it just yet.

Here we go for reference, the pommel is from the Albion Regent, and the guard is closely based on the Albion Viceroy. The Viceroy-Regent hybrid was my leaping off point so as you can see most of the hard work designing was already done for me www.myarmoury.com/bill_swor_alb_regroy.htmlAttachments:

Also I was hoping you could help me figure out the tones of the wood for the grip. Not sure if I want to go for high a contrast with deep brown and white wood, or a lower contrast with a coffee and cream colour scheme.

Hmmmm. Well, I've just finished modelling the blade, moved to the guard (which is a bit more complicated than I thought), but after I'm done with the model we can mix and match the materials until you're happy with it.

This is the progress so far, but sadly I'm too tired to continue. I will finish it tomorrow after work. Sorry about this, but I just can't concentrate properly anymore.

Heya. Got back from work earlier today and I've continued work on your sword. I'll show you a new pic in a few mins, I took a few liberties with the pommel design, I'll show you what I'm talking about in a sec. Hope you like it, if not, we'll revert back to the old one.

Nice one with the pommel! Reminds me of one of those early renaissance swiss saber pommels.

i'm probably going to keep my design for the pommel when i make the commission to keep the weight down but i like what you've done. Btw real nice work on adding curves to the grip, my original design was a bit too angular
