...and I thought his helmet looked chrome. So I pulled up close and, sure enough, he was wearing a period steel helm, complete with metal spike on top!
I thought that was pretty cool.

Probably NOT D.O.T. or BELL rated or approved, though. Give me padded polycarbonate (or better yet, fiberglass) for a motorcycle helmet any day. Not trying to start an argument about helmet laws or anything, but my father is alive - and not brain damaged (though he did get a pretty nasty concussion) - because he was wearing a helmet when he got broadsided on HIS Harley by someone running a stop light. Knocked a huge chunk of fiberglass out of the helmet, but at least it wasn't his skull.

yeah ... the fact that they NEEDED to make helmet laws baffuls my mind I know my head is noway as hard as concrete

Well, just my opinion, mind you, but I always figured that those who aren't smart enough to wear a helmet even when it's not required by law probably don't have much in the line of brains to damage anyway. I just wish the insurance companies could be made to stop jacking up their rates because of the idiots out there.
