When mine came the edge already had a couple spots on it that looked liked it was test cut. It may have been tested at the forge itself. Overall, the sword is not "perfect" and has rough spots but it is rock solid when I put it through it's paces for some forms. No rattle and no whippiness but it is a heavy beast! I would love to test cut with it and am looking at doing that at first opportunity. It's a beater but I would say it is up to the same league as Darksword Armory. By no means is it realistic as it is a fantasy sword with no historical reference. I would say it can be a wallhanger and is only functionally limiting because of the weight. Otherwise, other than a sore shoulder, forearm, and wrist it is pretty impressive and intimidating. When I do test cut with it I will let everybody know the results.

I urge you not to order from HotMovieProps.com!!! I did, about a month ago. They never sent anything or responded to my emails. Neither did they charge my credit card. It seems to be like a ghost site or something. It's really weird. AFTER I ordered (unfortunately) I read that other people had the same experiences with them. You could probably find comments by Googling. This company seem to be...defunct. It's really the oddest thing. I don't know if it's a scam or if they had to close down and forget to close the website? You can see all the items they sell were added years ago.

Hmm. If that's the case then they most likely are simply not in business (at least on the internet), and with their prices (compared to Noble Collection), I can plainly see why. Many defunct companies simply do not touch their website and allow the domain to expire.
Thanks for the heads up!

You're welcome! At least they didn't charge the credit card...but they do have it, which is a little scary.

I certainly hope the The Hobbit movie will bring renewed interest in Glamdring; and introduce Orcrist as well. Glamdring is really an amazing sword; not everyone may know that it was actually forged for once High King of the Noldor Turgon while in Gondolin. This makes Glamdring (and Orcrist as well) at least, and likely much older than, 6500 years old! And the batteries still worked! It glowed when goblins were near. Gotta love those elven smiths.

That would be very nice! You might want to check the runes on the hilt; I saw a version that may or may not have been the same as the one at KoA that seemed to have almost English written on it. I'm not sure, I haven't personally seen it, just thought I'd mention it. I got the Sting from KoA and it looks quite nice, for $29.95!

wow talk about dragging a thread out of moth balls There was no sense in starting a new thread when we had one right here already. I'd like to see the Hobbit bring more interest to the two swords as well. Maybe they'll use Del Tin's Orcrist blade, eh? Hopefully they at least use the same Glamdring that was used in LotR. It really was a beautiful sword.
