Hello SBG community, My name is Cameron and I presently reside in Kitchener, Ontario up in the great north. I have been reading these forums for the greater part of a month now and I decided to finally join as I am finally a proud owner of my first sword. Growing up, I always wanted a functional sword and as I carried out my teen years, that desire died off as my interests changed. Now I am 25 and finally have some extra income to buy the things I have always wanted. (I feel like I've started down a slippery path of impulse sword purchasing) 3 days before my 25th Birthday (which was last month, the 4th of April) I purchased my first sword at 2:30 in the morning on a whim from Reliks.com. I then started to read these forums and all the reviews herein and started to second guess my purchase. I will not name the sword for it is controversial and I want to prolong my time in these forums without any hassle, haha. Needless to say I ordered a Ronin Katana #4 about 7 days ago, and I will consider that my first sword as to lay ease to my soul and conscience. I am very excited to be apart of this community and I am eager to learn and grow as a new sword collector. Thank you for reading. Cameron

Hello! Welcome to SBG. Congratulations on your first(and other first) sword!
Taking a peek at Reliks functional katana selection, I can possibly guess which brand you speak of, hahaha. No worries. It's more to do with business practice than the actual product, of which fairly little is known. Perhaps someday, if you keep it, you can give us your thoughts on it.
We've got some really solid dudes and dudettes living up there. Hopefully they will chime in and you can get to know them. Maybe some will live close enough for you to meet up with.

Thank you for the warm welcome Adrian,
And I've noticed quite a few Ontarian's on here so it's always comforting to know that there are people who have shared this interest of mine locally, as well as being much more experienced, haha.
And yes, perhaps someday I will reveal and show you guys the ill-ridden blade. But I haven't cut with it yet, so it would be VERY premature of me.
Thanks again!~
