here is a sword that i fell in love with when i first saw the film.. and its a bit strange to me that this sword was never properly reproduced.. they have an official Excalibur made for the film but its not even close to the one used.. so i am a pretty good sculpter and carver but to do this sword justice i called upon my friend and wicked wax carver Jose DeBraga. i sent him film stills and drawings and after a few months we agreed upon and 15 months later i got the raw waxes.. i then made molds of the parts, did all the wax pours and clean up then all the lost wax.. i have a very small foundry but to make sure i didnt mess up i went to a friends larger foundry here in San ANtonio... the guard and pommell is silicon bronze and the handle is resin backed with carbon fiber and kevlar fitted to the tang.. the blade was made for my by David Blue at Savage Swords.. he hand ground the blade using a grinder and files. he used spring steel and acid etched in the Runes one one side and the ogham on the other... this sword is actually about to head to England to be displayed at the arthurian history museum : and now.. pictures...

Personally i never liked Arthur's sword in that movie,i much preferred the saxon chief Cerdic's sword. The skill and attention to detail in your recreation though is absolutely superb +1

That sword was one of the two few things I actually liked about that movie. (The other being Stellan Skarsgård as the villain.) Mostly because it has kind of an old school 80s fantasy sword look, like it belongs in a Conan or Beastmaster movie or something.
In fact, it would have made a better Conan sword than the actual swords we got from the more recent Conan movie, but I digress. Amazing work, at any rate.

Very Nice Work! I am doing a Clive Owen King Arthur Tribute. How much would it be for one of these King Arthur (Clive Owen) swords? Your Craftsmanship is Awesome! Regards, Ariovistus
