Just when you think that they can't make wall-hangers any less functional, Trueswords: a very well respected purveyor of both functional "battle-ready" and SLO swords. Releases this atrocity.. www.trueswords.com/berserk-guts-gattsu-dragonslayer-sword-huge-52in-p-2968.htmlAt least they have the decency to warn the customer that it's not designed for combat purposes, but look at it!! I'd be hard pressed to even give it a cursory swing. For how can a handle house such a gargantuan blade like that? It makes even the almighty epoxy seem inefficient for the task... My fellow forumites your opinions? EDIT: it seems that trueswords has taken off the warning. When i first saw the adverstisement for this sword, they had a comment listed under the features section that read. "This is sword is not intended for contact use." As of this writing the warning has been removed. I will be sending trueswords an email about this. ~Jesse

Oh, GAWD, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Not Guts! I still have nightmares about Sword of the Berserk: Gut's Rage on Dreamcast: 20 minutes of cutscenes, 5 minutes of gameplay, 20 minutes of cutscenes, 5 minutes of gameplay...and on and on and on! Damn them for making me remeber this! ;D

hmm.. if you think that's bad try Shenmue, it had five minutes of gameplay, something like forty-five minutes of story progression, and then another five minutes of convoluted-yet-mundane gameplay. It won EGM's (electronic gaming monthly) "Just shut up and punch somebody! Anybody!" award for being the most boring game of the year. I know off topic, but fun to know.

Unfortunately i agree with you. *shakes head shenmue showed so much promise. It cost sega an astounding 70 million dollars to create, and in doingso It set the bar for production values that many games have yet to top. Tis' such a shame that sega spent so much time meticulously crafting a beautiful game world, but completely neglected the gameplay tsk..tsk.. I didn't know you were a gamer btw. Always nice to meet someone whom one has similar hobbies.

Indeed. Sitting in my bedroom as we speak are a: Genesis, Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, PSOne, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I see a possible PS3 in my future as well. Oh, and a PSP plugged in next to the bed as a backup during power failures... ;D

Just when you think the buster sword is dead and buried. Rammers is going to love this... I am actually a great fan of the original anime this is based upon. I'm not actually the biggest anime fan generally speaking, but the series 'Berserk' is outstanding, and pretty grim. I have to say that my favorite part is the 'outtakes' at the end of each 4 parts in the series done by the English speaking voice over folk. Some are genuine stuff ups, others are just the cast being very silly. An example: (there are 6 of these on youtube, check 'em out if you want a good laugh).

Good lord, those voices were terrible. I watched the Berserk anime in fansub some time ago. I quite enjoyed it; wish it had gone longer. I've only managed to get the first two volumes of the manga, though. It's hard to find these days. In stores, anyway. No sense paying shipping on a book. His sword has always been a source of amusement to me, as well. Then again, it's supposed to be something outrageous. I guess they pulled that off well enough. I never, though, expected to see anybody attempt a replica. Even this one just...doesn't seem to work too well. For starters, I'm pretty sure its blade should be a bit longer than 40 inches...but that's beside the point here. Needless to say, I won't be buying this sword, let alone try to swing it around.

Looking at this sword it looks to me like the blade would fly out at the first swing making a great helicopter destroying everything around:p

Ok something i found lately, must be a custom made, a bit rough finish of the blade but must say it looks crazy:p Now i wonder how long this baby is. I doubt any human would be able to really swing this thing around. Don't even want to think about it's weight.

Yeah the tip is on the ground, i'm sure this guy would have hell of a problem to pick it up. What i'm wondering about is how big the weight difference is between him and the sword:p
I suppose if you'd be able to swing it around it would chop a car into 2 quite easily.

Coagulated vomit makes a better weapon that THAT thing does.
edit: You know what? I'm getting really PISSED OFF with the S key being next to the D key. eg. "Makes" with a single typo = "Maked"
